本翻译报告以《新加坡食品安全局法案》的译文为研究对象，探究其中定 语从句的翻译技巧。该法案是新加坡政府为建立新加坡食品安全局而制定的一 套全面的法律条款，详细说明了该机构的职能、权力、任命程序，以及从新加 坡农业食品和兽医局转移食品安全监管职责和人员。在整个翻译过程中，译者 遇到了大量结构复杂、意义模糊的定语从句，对准确理解和有效翻译造成了挑 战。为了解决这些问题，本文在功能对等理论的指导下，探讨了定语从句的四 种翻译方法，即前置法、分译法、转换法和融合法。通过运用这些技巧，本报 告旨在为法律文本中定语从句的翻译提供一定的参考，以确保翻译的准确性和 连贯性。此外，本翻译报告强调了《新加坡食品安全局法案》译本的重要性， 为中国读者了解新加坡食品安全法规提供了有价值的途径，从而为中国加强食 品安全立法提供参考。本文通过对法律文本翻译过程和翻译技巧的综合分析， 以期为法律文本中复杂定语从句的翻译提供实用参考。

  • This translation report takes the translation text of the Singapore Food Agency Act as the subject, aiming to explore the techniques applied in translating attributive clauses in the Singapore Food Agency Act. The Act, enacted by the Singapore government to establish the Singapore Food Agency, serves as a comprehensive regulations detailing the agency’s functions, powers, appointment procedures, and the transfer of food safety supervision responsibilities and personnel from the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore. Throughout the translation process, the translator encountered numerous attributive clauses characterized by complex structures and ambiguous meanings, posing difficulties in maintaining accurate comprehension and effective translation. To address these challenges, this report explores four translation methods for attributive clauses, namely pre-positioning, division, shift and fusion, drawing upon the theoretical framework of functional equivalence. By applying these techniques, the report aims to provide valuable guidance for translating attributive clauses within the context of legal texts, ensuring accurate and coherent renditions. Moreover, this report underscores the significance of the translated Singapore Food Agency Act as a valuable access for Chinese readers seeking to gain insights into Singapore’s food safety regulations, which can in turn make efforts to enhance food safety legislation in China. Through a comprehensive analysis of the translation process and techniques employed, this report is hoped to provide practical references for handling complex attributive clauses within legal texts.
