Electronic signature is an important element in network transactions. This paper first addresses e-signature in term of relevant legal rules, content, current situations and tendency in other countries, and then states that it is urgent for China to establish the legal system concerning e-signature. It also discusses some fundamental legislative principles and content systems, so that the e-signature system could well meet the requirements of e-commerce development in China.
